If some of you missed the chance to check out the song clips from Zack De La Rocha’s newest project, One Day As A Lion from my previous post, fret not, as ODAAL has just released a single, Wild International on their official website.
It’s one of the 5 songs from the upcoming EP and was originally wrote for and performed at the Concert For Fair Food show in Chicago April last year to celebrate the victory of Coalition of Immokalee Workers(CIW) demanding McDonald’s to improve their farm workers’ wages and working conditions. Read the show’s review here.
And just as I suspected, it’s sick as hell. Zack’s flow is as fresh as the March Of Death single he did with DJ Shadow, post-RATM, an anti-Bush song during the Iraq war. The distorted guitar effect from his keyboard sounded like Saul William’s Niggy Tardust joint with Trent Reznor. Jon Theodore’s minimal but tight drum beats compliments Zack delivery and makes the whole song a blastful of sonic attack.
Have a listen below;
Wild International
Original version performed with, at that time, fellow ex-RATM member, Tom Morello at the CIW’s show. Notice the different chorus line.
Some of the new stuff updated on the website are photos, lyrics, downloads and store. You can sign up for the mailing list to get show/tour/releases news from the band. Check it out here.
D-Day is next Tuesday! Can’t wait to get my copy in the mail(Thanks Futuna for ordering!)

-he who claimed kluar ratm to do hardcore rap, hah…
oh n who says seposen dont change nuffin..
kinda like his past solo collabos with krs one, roni size, chuck d, blackthought, etc. but more stripped down and focused. one of the guys from zdlr.net forum said this song is “the weakest” from the lot, so expect more sonic blast from the full album!
